well i feel like a idiot but, for the life of me ....i cannot get my brakes apart to replace the pads. 99 gmc sierra 1/2 ton 4x4. the fronts are good.. just need to replace the rear. the 2 bolts that should drop the caliper wont come out.. they just spin. there are 2 larger bolts that hold the bracket that holds the caliper. they wont budge. cant find anything online! help please! thankyou

you need to hold the slide its hex shaped like a nut . the caliper sits against it. this will remove the little bolts. and then the bigger bracket bolts have locktite on them from the factory. you need to put some a$$ in it when breaking them loose.

then make sure you remove the shims from the brackets and clean up any rust that builds up in there and put slide lube or neversize on them and reinstall the shims. then make sure the pads float good if not grind or file a bit from the pads and recheck. thay freaze up and dont work from the rust and lack of clearence.
