brand new trans won't shift

just got finished putting in my crate motor and new tranny from TCI, the problem is when i put the tranny in gear it won't move. i ran it through the gears to get the fluid in the clutch packs and in the new torque converter and then made sure the trans was full and it was. i did put bolt in the torque conveter so thats not it.

if i don't get any helpfull hints by the morning i'll just end up calling TCI (which i'll probably do anyway)

What tranny is it? How much tranny fluid did you put in?

with a new tranny and torque conv. it will take a lil' bit until you grab a gear pretty solid. just my personal exp. though. i used alot more tranny fluid than expected w/ my rebuilt trans and new tq. conv.

did you fill the convertor before you installed it?

did you adjust the tv cable? after we put another 700r4 into a buddies k5, it was terrible cuz the tv cable wasnt adjusted properly.

If you didn't fill the TQ converter you probably fried the pump.

i got it done...

last night i just shifted it through the gears a few times, today i rechecked the fluid and it was alittle low so i filled it then shifted through the gears... i kept doing that until i filled the tranny with around a total of 1o quarts of fluid

i found out earlier today that it's really fun to scare the **** out of someone when you idle up next to them and bump the throttle with open headers
