So it's been years since i've lifted a rig so i'm out of the loop on what people consider to be the best springs to use. I have a friend who is wanting to lift his 81 3/4 ton truck and he wants to run a 33" or 35" tire (probably 35's) so I told him to go with a 4" shackle flip in the rear and then whichever springs are best for the front. So what says the brotherhood on spring preference?

custom ORD packs done by Alcan are the bees knees these days.. tho fairly pricey...

than off the shelf... Tuff Country's..

tho good, I'd never buy BDS cuz the company are douchenozzles... and Rough Country are exactly that, but sells ton's cuz people are cheap......

BDS cuz the company are douchenozzles......

x2 on this . recent problems with installing there lifts has turned me off of them and there sister brand zone.

they cant check there stuff that's put in the kits to see if it all plays with its self . I have had way to many fitment problems these days . and just did a 2014 jeep 4.5" lift and the directions step by step and had to remove 1/2 of the stuff I just installed to then finish the directions as there so far out of order it wasn't funny .

call them on the phone and its all your fault nothing wrong with there products .

bunch of arogent douchenozzles. :angry1:

and rough country quality level is so cheep its scary on the stuff. down sizing hardware from stock size and just cheesy flimsy . yucky stuff I refuse to install them .

a while back I put a rough country into a friend's truck. Rides really stiff. Better quality shock seemed to help a little. A few months went by and I put in tough country Springs with grease able hardware. night and day difference. Rides great.

I have superlift front 6", w/ the BBC I think they are pretty good, flex good, and ride good....that's my opinion, from what Eric and his experience says and from working them on the trails, they are pretty decent.

I gotta say for the price the Tuff Country springs I used up front are pretty nice. Other than my damping issues...

I'm still considering the ORD springs later on, but when I got my Suburban it had Pro-Comp springs up front. Not sure how they compare to Rough Country, but they were really bad. The ride was so stiff from those springs that the Previous Owner (same guy who used a lot of wire nuts under the dash & hood) used all 4 shocks from the kit up front (quad shock option), and it didn't really matter. It rode slightly better when I swapped all 4 out for 2 Bilstein 5100s. Moving to the Tuff Country springs made the ride so much better!

Bds has answered all my questions and I haven't even purchased anything?

try being a install center quy for there stuff . that's were my opinion comes from .

not nockin the product its self . but quality control / directions layout / shop customer service . my 3 areas I don't like on the last few kits I have done.

wana know more pm me . I don't wana trash up this thread .

IMO, Deaver makes the best leaf springs on the market, I think they make a 6" and a 5" lift spring for both the front and the back, the amount of travel you get with Deaver is amazing.

Deaver are douches just like BDS... Alcan kicks their arse in high dollar custom springs AND customer service..

I have the ORD alcan springs up front and just a shackle flip out back, and to be honest they ride like a dream on the road... Literally the first day I really got to take them for a drive, I was just amazed at how smooth they rode for leaf springs.

Offroad I really don't think I can say until I have better shocks installed As my current ones were completely limiting travel..

Ive never installed any other types of springs on my blazer, so I really have no idea. I just know it rides on road sooooo much better than stock springs.

I never had a problem with the set of Deaver long travel springs I ran in the rear of my 2wd Silverado, and I ramped that thing and put it through some pretty rough whoops doing 45mph out in Ocotillo Wells all the time. The deaver spring and fox reservoir shocks I was running were a great combo with quick but smooth rebound. But everyone is entitled to the opinion on a brand.

Deaver has been known to make a good spring, they should for the money they charge...

but I have heard stories of quality issues with Deavers, but even more stories of bad customer service issues... same with BDS... I will not give money to companies that I hear treating their customers like chit...

whereas a comparable high end spring company to Deaver like Alcan, I hear nothing but outstanding things about from spring performance to how they treat their customers..
