where do you guys route yours? what type of line?
and do you leave it open or what? because my rear axle was capped off

Routing is really up to you. However the line won't get tore off or pinched. Make sure it's long enough at full droop and still has some slack. ANy good rubber fuel line is fine I think fuel line is better then pure rubber hose. It dry rots too easy where as fuel line is ment to handle harsh gasoline.

Also mount it higher then any possible water crossing you may drive the rig in. What ever you think you may drive in mount it at least a foot higher, just in case.

I like the one way vent caps. Lets the axle vent but keeps it from filling with water/mud while running a crossing.

Trail gear creeper breather.

/THREAD :haha:

If you are going to worry about venting up high, make sure to address the trans and T-case as well. Personally, my rear axle is mounted to the bottom of the bed, with a couple loops in the hose to guard against water. It's good enough for government work :)

Vent caps? Maybe LMC or ClassicParts. Best place....junkyard.

My rig is probably a little different but I go up the back of the cab and do a loop then use a fuel filter on the end. I am starting to add catch cans on them now. Have a can okn the rear diff vent and on my fuel tank vent after it does a FATS style vent hose routing. Trying to keep fluid spills at a minimum when rig isn't on all 4 tires.

I extended my t/c and rear axle. The front axles vents about headlight high on the rad support. I don't think my 465 has a vent hose just a vent plug. May fix that some day.

I used fuel line and ran all 4 lines up the side of the windshield washer pump, this the absolutely highest point in the engine bay. I topped off with lil K&N type filters.

I had never seen that Trail Gear Creeper Breather and I thought it was cool. I googled it to check price etc. Several threads came up about these and a couple of them say that they are really for crawlers and low speed use where the axle temps don't get high. A couple of guys had rear end fluid pushed out because of pressure. There is also a site that sells just the bellow for around $5.

I have heard that too and stayed away from them until I went to the KOH qualifier where guys are going fast and then diving through water and mud and everyones was fine.

And yes you can get them from PSC for $5 a pop.
