Probably not news to those that deal with this stuff, but I felt it was pretty good based on what I didnt know.

Yep...this has come up many times on the diesel side over the years, in that fuel hose isn't necessarily universal even on the low pressure side - such as the line to/from the lift pump. What's often sold as "fuel hose" in the parts store won't stand up to biodiesel at all, even the really low ratio blends that are at most every diesel pump these days.

Also good to note that this same "fuel hose" shouldn't be used in-tank for the pump suction line, as the jacketing isn't intended to be bathed in fuel 24/7, and will break down in fairly short order.
