I'm looking for an original broadcast code for a 87 chevy 4x4 350 with a SM465 4 speed trans. My local dealer gave me this list but there may be others...

If you have one you can send it to me or post it up at Moates site.
Thanks in advance!

Here is what I have for 7747 .bin files ... maybe one of the ones I have will work?

Thanks! I'm trying to get a few good files built up to play with. The one I have now has a little bit of a weird idling problem I cant figure out! When it comes back to idle at 650 it seems to be fine then for no reason it stumbles down to about 400 then right back to 650 and it never does it again untill the truck moves. It will do this at every traffic light and every stop sign. First it was the idle "flair" and now this? I think the demons have it....

What better with the 93-95 ECM? Is that the ECM with the "red" and "blue" connectors? Can that be retrofitted to my harness?.....

The 93 - 95 ECM has the "red / blue" connectors. The quick answer as to why the "red / blue" connector ECM is better, is because the processor speed is faster. The "red / blue" connector ECM is really a PCM that can control a 4L60E or 4L80E transmission. The "red / blue" PCM has improved fuel and spark tables. The "red / blue" PCM has better aftermarket data logging software, so tuning for engine performance modifications is quicker and easier.

The "red / blue" PCM connectors use the same wire end terminals as the older TBI wire harness, so yes a "red / blue" PCM could be retrofitted to an older vehicle.

The main downside to a "red / blue" PCM is the VSS, which uses the 40 pulses per driveshaft revolution VSS. The 4L60E and 4L80E have the VSS tone ring / reluctor ring on the transmission tailshaft. I'm working on $OE code to eliminate the VSS, but have I not bench tested the code yet. Maybe in the next few weeks I'll have some $OE code working that does not need a 40 pulses per driveshaft revolution VSS.

So if I have a "red/blue" ECM it will plug right in and work but the loophole is the VSS? I think my VSS is the older 20 pulse model right, its in the speedo cluster I think they call it optical . Could a aftermarket VSS be added in the speeo cable at the trans and make it work.

The "red/blue" connector needs to have ALL the connector pins moved from the old ECM into the connector housings of the "red/blue" PCM. Take a look at this link. http://www.dynamicefi.com/RePinHowTo.php

No aftermarket VSS for the "red/bule" PCM that connects to the speedometer cable. I'm working on making a driveshaft VSS like the one at http://www.jagsthatrun.com/Pages/Parts_S10-Reluctor-Diff.html

Once the driveshaft VSS is working, the DRAC need to be figured out. http://www.tbichips.com/drac/
