So, the other day I was broke, bored, and ready to kill if I didn't get out of the house and enjoy the last of the great, if not freakish, weather we've had. So after being told "No" for the umpteenth time on a lift kit by the "Finance Commitee", I decided to pout outside for awhile.

As I was walking around the 'Burb, I noticed that the Sierra Classic emblems looked a little bland. They were chrome, but that was it. So, in a flash of inspiration, I sped off to the local hobby store, picked up some Tamiya X-7 Red, (which matches the red on my Sub perfectly) and sped home again for some much needed outdoor therapy.

Sorry, but I don't have any before pics to share.

I know it isn't all that special, but it only cost me $2.25 for the paint and I think it improves the looks quite a bit. I still have the front GMC to do and I'm going to tackle the "Suburban" emblem on the back barn door too. I take my little victories where I can.

I was wrong about not having any "before" pics. Here's a shot of the bland emblems. This was while I was halfway done with the passenger side.

Much better now if I do say so myself.

And just for shiggles, here's what the whole truck looks like for now. Soon to come is a 3" lift and 33's, a home made roof rack and many miles of offroading fun.

Good and cheap mod. That's how it should have come from the factory. Looks good! I hope you can get that lift soon! Be extra nice and sweet to the other half, mabe you can get it sooner!

Its on the other side, he's missing the A/C compressor. At least my A/C thingy is there and the alternator is on the pass. side.

Um, wheres your alternator?

Emblems look good!

Munepit is right, it's on the passenger side. I wish to God I had a previous owner seeking missile because I'd let it fly on the dork who attacked my poor Fillmore. He gutted the entire A/C system and rear heat unit out, took out the cat and swapped out the 700R4 for a TH350. :dunno:

This spring though, I'm swapping from V-belts to a serpentine belt system and I'm going to reinstall the A/C. I've thought about putting in another 700R4 tranny, but I think with 3.73's in the axles and going to 33's this spring, I might be ok cruising down the highway without OD.
