depending on how much you like and use the wing windows I'd say look into doing the one piece windows. Personally I'm not a fan of the wings only time I would use them was when it was raining and I wanted a window open on a Bug I used to have on my truck they are rarely used besides mine are screwed up anyways and from what I've heard they can be a real pain to fix

i love them...if im in the truck they are open as well as the real window.

i would like to get the one piece windows, i love the look and the function of them, but seeing as how this is my DD and i need it sealed and therefore kinda secure..is more important.

Fly window? If you mean vent window next to door glass, then take your packing tape(rubber) put it around the glass, use masking tape to hold it on. Lube up the channel and tape with oil, silicone spray, grease, what ever you have handy. Push the glass into the frame as far as you can get it in. Take a soft face mallet and hit along the exposed edge of the glass and drive it into the frame:screwy: . Trim of tape, clean and presto your done. You could also fill the channel with black silicone push glass into the silicone and get it centered in the channel. Let it dry! Do not close it while the cone is wet. Once dry trim off excess silicone cleanly. And your in like Flinn. :thumb:

thats what i was plannin on doing...i just wasnt sure of whrether or not to use a "glue" (silicoln) or just slap it in there glass and rubber.

and my buddies dad called it a flywindow...itkinda stuck:rolleyes:

The glue works better, you don't have to worry about it working it's way loose like the tape can do. I like the glue method better, but I don't normally have the time to let it dry before the car has to leave.

by black silcoln do you mean like black rtv? i thought that was only for oil stuff...i guess it could wokr

sorry for all the dumb questions i just like doing things once...haha

do you work for a auto window place?

RTV? Sure. You can always use the rest of it sometime.

How do you change to a one piece window?

i read an article about it in a custom classic trucks rag...basically remove ALL teh stock stuff and you buy a kit with new tracks, weather stripping, window etc.

pretty cool stuff ill try adn find a link.

Not RTV, actual black silicone. Works great. Ya you could say I work for a glass shop, you could also say I own one.:doah:

Me toooo!! Here during the day it helps keep you from roasting.:angry1:
angle them right at you and its like a monster fan blowing on you.:eek1:
And if its cool or raining out , its perfect for smokeing.

My glue came unglued . I just stopped opening the window

I would use high temp dryer felt adhesive , I had a tube pop in my toolbag , and its not coming off until the nukes come :thumb:

as far as the one piece windows there one through brothers trucks and also http://www.onepieceproducts.com/. I found that this one < is cheaper by about 100 bucks and you can get replacement glass with brothers I never got an answer as far as being able to get replacement glass (I had asked about it in case someone were to brake in to my truck or had a window bust due to summer temps here in the desert when I eventually get the kit)

I love those vent windows. They just suck the smoke from my cigarettes right out of the cab.

And you can angle the vents just right so you have a constant air exchange, but not feel any of the wind. The things are genious, I would never EVER get rid of them...

Oh yeah, hope all goes well.

welp...none of the local yards had a 81+vent so im runnin a pre81style vetn now...haha

and nobody would sell just the glass only the assy, so i bought one, pretty good rubber too, so ifigure that my 31.56 was well work it haha. took me aboot 15minutes to get it installed :) including disassembly, when i redo the pass side with new weatherstripping it should be a breeze haha,
