I was driving my truck to school tonight, when it started to make a whining and clacking noise.

Said F*ck it, and drove it home, I knew it was the case because the noise didnt change when I was still moving, but with the clutch in. The dead give away was that the noise Slowed as the truck did.

I took the drain plug out, and along with fluid were some needle bearings.

Which kit is the best?

I read some-where that Federal Mogul kits are the best, which are offered at rock-auto. But the listing doesn't state that it has these bearings?

Anybody have any experience here?

Thanks, really sucks is that I filled it up today:doah:

Just find someone here selling a 241 and swap it in. The 241 is a littler better t-case and slightly lower gearing (2.72:1). Oh, you can buy a SYE for a 241 as well.

I broke it in two wheel drive...but the truck is on 37 iroks with warn hubs.

I have a 241, but it has a different input shaft, I need a 32 spline input and mine is a 27.

I think I'm going to take it apart and replace the broke parts, with some from the case I pulled out of the truck when is put the 465/208 in.

it was very simple and let me say its a chevy back half so no welding was done...here is what i did

replace the chevy shaft with the dodge shaft (pita make sure u have a good set of snap ring pliers)

put it back together and then i tapped the chevy back half to accept the dodge tail shaft housing (i guess thats the name,i dunno) you have to turn it to get the oil passages to line up but just tap 4 holes and your in buiness...

all in all it took about and hour and a half...i dont run a spedo so i dont know what u would have to do to make that work...we took a bunch of pics when we did it just wating for a buddy to put them in his photobucket

oh yeah and when you rebuild it make sure to coat the shaft in grease then put all the needle berings in...use lots of grease trust me its a tight fit and you might need a second hand :D....we had all the needle berings fall out once because we didnt use enough grease
