i was replacing my wheel bearings in my 10 bolt 8 lug. i broke the hub, the part that lets you select free or lock. i need a new peice. do i replace everything how what now (im still new at all this) i just want to find out what i need, where to get the parts so i can fix it and start driving it i miss my baby. the hub i broke was a cheap m and m hub but i am going to replace the whole thing later and go to a 60 but until then she needs to get back on the road. thanx for you guys help--- sandypants

I may have a set of the premium milemarker hub switches laying around. They have the silver or gold metal free/lock knobs. Would that work for you?

I believe the lock - out hubs are replaceable. Any auto parts store should carry them. The screws are allen head and it should take about 5 minutes to replace per side. Grease the lock - unlock hub good so they don't freeze.

Hubs are easy, don't even have to take the wheels off or jack the truck up.

Warn Premiums are like $80-90 if you scrounge. I'd get those, replace them both, and if/when you get a Dana 60, sell the Warns for $50 or so to the next guy.

well a striped broken allen head is how this whole mess started.... but the other side should be fine, i just want a quick fix to get her on the road so i can continue my hunt for new axels....

Umm, duct tape to cover it up ... removing the hub is just like unlocking it. 'Course you won't have 4WD, but if it's only road use you'd be in 2WD anyway.
