Well I was out the other night and thought I would act like a fool. I was shifting manually and when I shifted from 2 to 3 , at 75, I heard a pop and then the car started losing speed and the engine just reved. I know I snapped something to do with the tranny. It still wont roll freely in park or drive, you have to put it in neutral to push it. The engine is reved alot higher now that it broke, like there is no load on the engine.
I haven't had a chance to tear into it yet, just thought I'd take a poll on what you guys think I broke. Has anyone ever broke the converter bolts lose or the input shaft. The engine I have is rated at about 380 LBS of torque while the tranny is rated for upt to 450LBS.
Just let me know what you think, and I'll let you know what I find out.
I have a feeling I just spent $1200 on a new tranny. Oops
