If i wasnt mistaken, I would say that the Blazer Gods are trying to make me get real axles. Seeing how I dont really have the time/money to search out and modify a nice axle i will try to fix my crappy 10bolt. I whent to replace my spider gears and everything was going smooth untill, as the title says the pinion shaft bolt is broken of inside. How can i deal with this? Is taking it somewhere to have it done going to cost more than a junk yard special?

Yup, that is an extremely common thing to happen in 10 and 12 bolts. It needs to be drilled and easy-outed. If there's anything sticking out of the hole (doubtful), you might be able to weld a nut to it and get it out.

Some of the bigger tool companys have a set up for just that problem. It has a drill bit, easy out, and heli coil. Mac, Snap-on, or I think Cornwell has it.

If I remember tomorrow I will get you the info, my friend is the one who invented and patented this item. As stated before, all the major tool companies sell them. I have one of the kits at my shop so I can get you the name of it and the number where to get one. They are cheap in price also.

There you go! Tell your friend.........he RULES!!! /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

blew the spiders in my rear wheelin one day. the bolt
broke off on me.
i loosened up the bearings, brought it out far enough to
drill right in the center of the broken bolt , then used an
easy out . it screwed right out.
the only mistake i made, was that i didnt throw a locker
in when i had it apart /forums/images/icons/frown.gif , but no fundage at the time.
