My '88 K5 Silverado has a cruise/wiper lever that is broken leaving the very end of the metal rod inside the harness connector. So far I've tried a pick set to try to dislodge the broken piece without any success. Needle nose pliers don't fit inside there. Has anyone ever had this happen and figured out a way to get that piece out of theirs? Any help would be greatly appreciated. The rod broke just beyond the small groove on the shaft leaving it broken just inside the part where it snaps into the locking position. Thanks.

Update: Ended up dismantling column. The end of the harness has a hole that, when exposed, allows for pushing the broken stem out. Just thought I'd post in case anyone ever runs into this.(My son came by and did it for me!)

Glad that you got it figured out.
When I read your 1st post, I had no good help for you without tearing into the column, so I didn't reply.
