I'm working on getting my interior put back together on my 78 Blazer. The door panels are in decent enough shape for me to re-use. I've re-painted them to match my truck and when I took these chrome beauty rings off along with the metal looking trim inserts a bunch of the plastic studs were very brittle and broke almost immediately. Is there any way to repair these that make sense or am I better off just trying to save for new replacements?

One thing I have thought about doing for a repair is to epoxy a jam nut to the trim (careful to not get epoxy in the thread), drill out the mounting holes so the hex fits inside the hole, then use a short bolt with fender washer to mount the trim. The downside is you have to drill out the door panel just to test it.
