Broken Front Shock Mount

Has anyone else ran into this problem? The passenger side dual shock mount on the axle broke off completely. This is not the first time, it also broke on my 1/2 ton axle. A simple weld cures the problem but what is a permanent fix?

Get rid of the factory lower mounts and weld on some confer mounts instead. The confer mounts are much thicker than the factory ones and there are 3 pieces to them so there is a steel plate on both sides of both shocks.
