Well putting headbolts in someones truck , broke one ...........I didn't do it . Were all drinking beer and eating pizza wondering what to do . Ideas /forums/images/graemlins/ears.gif We already drilled a hole in it , and its being stubborn /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

Start with taking the head back off and buying another head gasket and NEW head bolts and try again.

Went through this last couple of months ago. Broke a new bolt in the head. Removed head, grabbed small part still visible with vise grips and out it came. Since the thread and bolt were clean/new, it came right out.

pull the head off and use some vice grips to get it out. Like tim said, get some new head gaskets and bolts

tim's got the answer! /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif better to do it right the first time, then to have to do it again! /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif

if there isnt enough of the bolt left to grab with the vice grips get one of those screw extractors and give that a shot, if that doesnt work drill it out and re-tap it /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Too late . Drilled out , tap broke . Bolt is going to end up going into a heli-coiled hole now /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

Well we got the tap out and low and behold the "skin" of the bolt was able to be pryed out and retrieved with a magnet. So finally after 5 some odd hours we're back to assembling again.

Ain't workin on trucks all kinds of fun??????? /forums/images/graemlins/screwy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/screwy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/screwy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/screwy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/screwy.gif

I am so surprised and relieved that you got the damn thing out without hurting the damn threads . For never turning a wrench on a small block before , you are now a small block master . I got to go do the stuff I left to do . See you on the trail in the morning , and make sure numbnuts goes too /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif
