i got the whole trans rebuilt finally everything seemed to be spinning fine everything shifted into gear fine. get it in the truck and start driving started slow drove for 15 minutes just in 1st and 2nd gear then finally shifted into 3rd got a little speed and about 1000 yards later there was a whole lot of banging sudden stopping and some how it is now locked in first gear. was able to make it home by turning truck back on and letting off clutch a little to engage but thats all i got now some how. when trying to shift i do not hear the same noises as earlier when popping into gear and i can't even get it to go into 1st gear

any thoughts and ideas are more than welcome

Did you rebuild it or someone professionnal?
If it's a pro, take it back.
If it's you open it and see what happened.
Can't say anything without seing it but there a few things that could have happened.
