broken trans dipstick

The other day when I checked the trans level I noticed that the dipstick was broken at the end (was unable to get the proper level). I took a ´84 blazer dipstick from the junyard and it´s not fit. I thing the problem is that the ´84 has a 700 r4 and maybe the dipstick is a little longer that the one in the th-350. My car is a ´80 Jimmy.
Anyone knows the lenght of the ´80 TH-350?
