I've got a '85 Jimmy with a manual tranny, wipers in the turn signal stalk. The turn signal stalk has broken off in place. What can I do to fix it? I was thinking it could be as simple as some super glue/jb weld? Anyone ever have this problem before?

yeah mine has been broken like that for a while... somebody told me to try to pull the rest out with some plyers but it didnt work, wont budge. help us!

Don't know what to do to fix it but I have recently replaced one in a '88 GM car which may be a similar proceedure.
The stalk just pulls out. You may need needle nose to get to what is left of yours. Be sure to tie a string to the connector end before removing it up through the steering column. That way you can tie the connector end of the new stalk to it and just snake it down the column. You can probably find a cheap replacement on Ebay. Good luck!

doubt ANY type of glue will work.. lot of force being applied to that...

actually, my bad... I was thinking of my 77 column... my 87 is like that and mounts differently...

My stalk does just pull out like the one you did. I'm going to have to find a way to get the old one out- it's a REALLY small piece left in there. If I can get it out, the string is a great idea.

Anyone have any tips for removing the small piece that's still stuck in there? I was thinking of a tiny drill bit and a long skinny screw. Maybe something sticky?

I'd probably take the column upper section apart enough to get that portion out, and see if you can't simply push it out from the backside.
