When my truck was broken into this weekend and they tried to steal it they broke the wheel lock with a screwdriver or something. Does this need to be fixed or can i just leave it as is. Broke a whole piece off the column to get to it:mad: Fu****rs.

do you mean the steering wheel won't lock anymore? if so I don't think I'd worry about it too much I've never really understood why it was there in the first place aside from making it a PITA to start some vehicles by "locking" the ignition until you move the wheel

the column lock is simply a theft deterrent. you do not need to fix, but anyone can start and drive your truck with a key now.

I loaded my truck on the trailer and drove 2 hours to go wheeling only to realize I forgot my keys once. I made short work of the column with a hammer and chisel and have not had a key for months. Apparently it was quite entertaining to watch.

Install a kill switch under the dash so that it can't be stolen easily. thats what I did. :doah: now everyone knows. well except my brother and he's the only one I'm scared of taking the truck.

Yeah i meant the lock that prevents you from turning the wheel without a key. I guess ill just leave it the way it is, install a fuel pump cut off or battery cut off. :o
