Hey guys, I was wondering what some of you have done to prevent your floor boards from cracking?:doah:Mine unfortunately have already cracked once, but they have been welded. I am just paranoid that they are going to do it again.

I have heard it is caused due to the lack of surface area where the bucket seats mount, and have seen some people on other websites make "plates" that the seats bolt over to strengthen them up and give them more surface area. I really am not interested in welding something in or replacing the seats all together at this time. I would just like to see what some of you may have done or know if anyone sells some sort of kit to reinforce the floors in our old rigs.

Thanks!

Large washers. But for me welding made more sense

I think it's mostly the fact the floor isn't that rigid

That's actually not a bad idea! it would definitely help span the weight and stress put on the seats mounts quite a bit.. Just might throw some beefy washers under there next time I pull the seats.. Unfortunately I cannot find the original picture to describe exactly what i am talking about, but on another page a guy had some pieces of stock that he had fabricated to connect to all 4 seat bolts in between the floor board and seat. He was also considering selling them to people who were interested. & Yes, I believe what you are saying about the floors not being too rigid.. It seems like they are just too flat and flimsy and allow too much flex.
