My bud who runs a cnc mill made this for me. I gave him a drawing and he machined it up. We were going to do one out of Titanium but it would have taked too much time. I love free stuff.

You and your buddy could get some side money coming in if you guys set your mind to it . Those would sell I'm sure . A lot of guys want one without the extra cost of the "brand" and logos cut into them :D

We are talking about buying a cnc mill together. We will see. He and I know we could make money with one. I can't hald a candle to his programming skills. He does 3D crazy stuff in his sleep but he does not like to fab stuff like I do. I would run it, he would program it. I would just do the simple programming type stuff. He calls that stuff "ask tray" work, like the fairlead is to him, super simple stuff basically.

That is something that is super easy to make on a CNC mill, pretty unlikely that you'll beat the price of most large vendors on something like a fairlead. They use their mills too much and they buy too much material for you to compete with any of the larger operations I'm sure.

Maybe he could offer to machine off the first few thousandths of those "logo'ed" brand fairleads???

Buying a product where the vendors name is machined into it is a pet-peeve of mine. If you want to put on a removable sticker (which I'll probably remove) that's fine.... but I don't like being forced to advertise for someone that I'm paying good money to.

Most Line-X franchises actually put an embossed logo under the bedliner when they spray it in.... if they pulled that crap on my truck, I'd go berzerk!

:usaflag:

He was going to machine "MADE IN USA" on it but didn't. I would have been fine with that.
