what do ya'll think, i have 39.5TSL's on 15x10 chrome mods(cheapos) and he has 40x13.50x17MTR's that he wants to trade. mine is a daily driver/weekend wheeler, and his is trail only once we put his one tons under it(next weekend) well, hewants to trade straight up and he'll buy me new 17in wheels since his 17's are 6luggers.

his mtr's have about 90percent tread left, and my tsls have about 75-80percent left. im storngly considering it since im mostly driving on the road and it still vibes(cause the bias tires) anyways, let me know what ya'll think, oh yeah, im kinda wanting black wheels also.....thanks!!!

Hm, thats a tough one, I was gonna say try them out and see if you like them, but then I saw he has 6 lug rims. maybe wait untill he gets new rims, since he will have to either or, and try them out first, and let him try yours? either or your in the positive.

Well since yours is a DD I would go with the MTRs hands down. As far as 17" rims I have run them for a while and never had a problem.

MTRs are a pretty good tire and they will last way longer than your swampers. Get em siped and they will last even longer

I think the MTR's are the way to go on your truck. I'm strongly considering buyin a set for my blazer. It would be cheaper for me to buy TSLs (and they would look sweet!) but the MTR's are gonna last longer, and be a better street driven tire.

and get black rims, I'm a sucker for black rims after puttin a set on my mustang.

do it and sell them. you know how much mtr's are worth, a lot more then your tsls...then you can pick whatever you want.

H2's + 40" MTR's and dont look back! you do realize that 40" MTR's are about $400 a piece right? price is the only reason i didnt get them. they wear great and will have better street manners than the TSL's (obviously less agressive tread pattern). seems like a no brainer to me, the mtr's will probably last at least twice as long as the bias tsl's

if you want black, id powdercoat H2's black, i think that would look badass. u can get a set of H2's for $200 or less, which is about the same as cheap steelies

yeah, i actually am looking at h2 wheels right now...i thought about it when i saw an h2 at the grocery store just now...i just don't like the backspacing on those suckers...it's like 5in or something like that. i would have to run some wheelspacers...but i have a buddy who will practically give me a set of 2.5 in spacers for my truck. i think i may go that route

remember that the mtrs won't be as wide as the TSLs. but other than that, the MTRs I used to have did great in the rocks, sand, street, and pretty decent in the mud. X2 on the siping. I vote for the MTRs since you'll be getting the wheels as well :D

pretty sure they are 5.5" BS. yea i dont like how the search must be 3 letters or more now

meh, for road life and drivablility goodyears. but in mud theres something to be desired. id like to sell mine for some better mud tires.

yeah, boggers as well...that way when i go out for the weekends muddin/campin i can just swap the swampers on. that's why i went for the tsl's now, unmatched traction....but i only go muddin like one weekend every 1-2months. i think im gonna swap em out...i really really don't lke the backspacing of the h2 wheels...but, im still up in the air about the wheels.

oh yeah, i forgot to add....

the 40in MTR's measure almost an inch taller than my tsl's for some reason. must be the width of the rim. and they don't look much more narrow either.

I'd say go for it, Try them out maybe they will cure that wobble of yours. If you dont like them, just sell them. sounds like a good deal. I run 17s and have no problems with them. Black wheels would look good on your truck.
