Build sheet or truck history information?

so someone had a link with a phone number that was suppose to offer free build sheets and information regarding truck. I called the number to find out more about my 1975 GMC Jimmy but was given a couple other numbers.
Bottom line is I still have not been able to learn anything more about my truck after several phone calls.
Does anyone know a workable solution to learn more about my truck using the VIN since there are no build sheets on fender ect like lots of others?
Thanks I’d really like to know the original color scheme and trim package of the truck......

The build sheet for my 78 was under the seat between the spring and foam.
