I saw an old build thread on here once with an index, and I loved the idea

I've since done one for my own build thread and a few others (with some other members adding their own), and think I have devised a simpler way to do so, and thought I would share:

  1. I use the desktop/laptop computer, open to the build thread on post 1, then open Word/Google docs open in a separate Internet window (not a tab on the same Internet window)
  2. You can toggle between the 2 open windows by hitting "alt" and then "tab"
  3. Right click on the "post number" button that starts where you want to highlight
  4. Click "copy link"
  5. Toggle to your document sheet and "paste" then type a short description (make sure the typed text doesn't touch the link)

6. Rinse and repeat.
7. When you have your sheet done, copy and paste all the links and text into the "#1" post of your build thread
8. Save it
9. After you save it, you can edit the post again and shorten the hyperlinks so you don't have all of the URL text

I have been wondering how to go about something like this.

I just wish there was an easy way to reorder pics in albums, more pics per page or an entire album grid, etc.

In the media section or on your own page in a post?
You can move them in your posts, but it takes some work. You also have to delete/move the pictures as well as the attached pictures...

Mostly to get them in chronological order in the album. Mine are jumbled because I was moving pics real fast when Photosuckit lost their mind. It would be cool if you could look at a grid and then drag & drop like rearranging apps on a phone.

Guys, working on @ryoken 's Mutt thread now

i started looking last night as a matter of fact page to page to find missing pics.. was very surprised to see many early ones there.. but i haven't gotten to the tubebed part yet, so we'll see... thanks! :)

I’ll keep with ya on the project. I’ve already had to hunt down a few of the links

lots of work put into so many of these threads, like to preserve them as resources

hopefully I can do a bunch more, too

Cool! I just did mine. I ended up doing side by side windows, both with my build open, and copying and pasting directly to the front page. It worked out pretty well.
Cool deal! Yeah once you get past being afraid to delete something, it's not too bad!
I'll check it out and add yours on the above list
