I think it is time to put duel exhaust on the good old blazer. So since I have 2 weeks off from work I think I will build it my self.

I will buy another dynomax cat with another Flowmaster super 40 muffler. I will by a x pipe to balance the system. I want the tail pipes to run right out the back. The only problems I see I will have is around the gas tank area. The T-case will be easy to do I will use clamps on both mufflers maby cats. The rest I will weld.

The system that is on my truck now I did all my self. So I kinda know what I am doing ;) .

I am after some ideas and tips from you guys that have built there own system.

Didn't we just totally exhaust this subject in 3 different threads less than 24 hours ago.....?

save yourself time, money, and the effort, Hooker has done it already for you, and its mandrel bent pipe.

punch these numbers into Summit.
HOK-16528HKR if you have headers.
HOK-16624HKR if you have manifolds.

don't use hooker headers, they only have 2.5" collectors, you want 3"...
End of story

Hey,
that system is only 2 1/4 I need 2 1/2. It's not big enough.
Thanks
Adam

i dont know if you ever roll the back window down with the top on and drive that way but if you do and run the tips straight out the back it comes in though the back window and makes ya sick i couldnt figure it out untill i got my 6.2 then i could smell the diesel exhaust id also like to note that neither had the rear wing to deflect wind down the rear of the truck these wings although not always liked help alot for keeping your back window clean i dont know if they would help the exhaust comeing in or not though
the wing directs wind down the back and kills the vaccume effect any flat backed vehicle makes at speed just something to think about my current k5 has the wing but the exhaust tips angle out from behind the rear tires and i dont get the exhaust inside

balzer

I 2nd the motion that it is a bad idea to put the tail pipes straight out the back on a Blazer due to the fumes coming in the back window.. The best bet would be to exit them out to the sides behind the tires..

my step son will vouch for split rears on a k5 being a bad idea as well.

in his POS, he would smell like gas anytime he got out of it.

combination of the rear window that doesnt work, needing a tuneup, and a hack job exhaust by the previous owner.

i had gotten him the Hooker 2 1/4" pipe kit, split rear but it exhausts behind the tire.
