Hey I'm going to toss my 4cyl out of my 86 4runner. It can't turn 38's very well down the highway. I am going to swap in a 350, but it needs to be street legal. In TX the only motor swap law is "the motor can't be from an older truck" so it has to be an 86 and up. I've done research and really haven't found anything helpful. All I'm planning on doing is a rebuild and maybe one of those ruff loping cams
(not building a racing motor) then putting it in. I wanted a carb for less wiring but from what I've read I'm under the impression that in 87 it went to TBI. I also want to stay as old as possible less computers and sensors. What is the best route for me to go? I've got the nv4500 trans, plan on a np205 behind that and keeping the TOY axles until they break and then put in a dana 60 and a GM 14bolt... So my only problem is the main peice? Any info helps Thanks
