I'm sure this has probally been discussed before, but I had no luck in the search column for 9 months back.
Has anyone built half doors for thier K5?? I want to try it on my 84.I have an extra set of doors so my plan is to swap back as it gets to be winter. I just wondered if anybody had pics or advise on this.I plan on breaking the tools out this coming weekend.
Thanks,Bruce

Search on tube doors and you'll see lots of half doors, cutouts, tube doors, and mixtures of all of the above.

Also the quick disconnect mod of replacing your door hinge pins -- I did mine with 5/16" rod, as I recall, and welded a washer on the end... drilled through the other end, hitch pin, and voila! the doors come off in a minute.

oh... my back though... these are full doors with glass. Once I buy my ass a house I'm /forums/images/graemlins/hack.gif up my spare set to become half doors, baybeee....

I looked at the MOO site but I must have missed the doors, how much for the kit and what comes in it? Thanks!

I am currently revamping the half door kits and shopping around for cheaper uppers. The kits originally came with templates, top plates for the door, and the framed upper panels with zippered windows, along with the latch extensions. The total cost was $475.00 with the majority of the actual costs in the upper door sections. We plan on offering just the door caps and cut templates again real soon. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

thanks everyone for all the info & pics. The half door kits are cool, but tweetysaurus nailed it.that was just what i was looking for.

Here's pretty much the same thing as what tweetysaurus posted up except for I kept the factory mirror, just slid it forward a little.
