That's cool. Mine is really far from the ultimate compared to a lot of guys here. But my 4yr old and 2 yr old think it is the coolest thing ever....lol.

I think the ultimate rig doesn't have to have all the bling stuff as long as it can make it down the hard trails without breaking and hang with the big boys, it is Ultimate in my book

thats cool jeff! i agree it doesnt need all the bling parts, but some make it easier to make it down the trail

No updates yet. I am trying to sell a rifle of mine to get some funds for my projects. My wife is changing jobs so the money has come to a halt. I have just been doing things like flushing coolant system, changing the oil, and other minor maint that has needed a tending to.

Wheeling with a longbase vehicle in Moab is awesome to say the least. I made the dump bump look easy when most K5's could not even get up it. The stability of the longer wheel base is great and the fact your front tires are usually over the obstacle before the rear tires even begin it helps out a lot.

The only downer I would say is the bed and departure angle which I will remedy with the flat bed and cutting the frame ends off behind the shackles. Also you need really big tires to offset all that break over angle. Hence the 4D2's after my Moab trip

Sorry I am kind of at a stalemate with the build so nothing really exciting is going on, it bums me out pretty bad

I really like the look of the big tires, and minor lift.....I like the lower center of gravity. Great truck

if you need more flex in the rear, you could increase your shackle angle. it looks a little steep.

It has wicked flex in the rear! Thanks for the comments guys

trimmed the front a little more and trimmed the rad support so the tires don't rub anymore.

How are your batteries located? I need to cut mine more and I am having trouble determining where to put my battery. I run a full top so I am not comfortable putting them inside the K5 yet.

Right now I am running one Yellowtop battery right behind the bech seat. When I build the flat bed I will put it in the truck box right behind the cab. At that time I will def hook up a second battery. This truck takes a lot of juice to start and drains the battery every other week or so in the cold weather.
