bulkhead connectors

So i am going with a mojave heater in my k5 and i need a bulkhead fitting for the firewall to run my 5/8" heater hose through. I do Not want to spend the $55 for a billet aluminum one and I want to just do push on hose barb, no AN fittings. anyone have a clue where i can get something cheap that will work? i have been searching on the web for a while now.

So basically- a rubber grommet with a 5/8 inner diameter? Could try the AutoZone Help section. Don't overlook the valve cover breather ones either.

Home depot has garden hose repair barbed fittings ( brass ) that you could use and put the hose on each side from both sides of the firewall. Did that make sense?

Iron pipe fittings welded to a piece of strap. Drill holes for the fittings in the firewall and smaller holes in the strap to screw/bolt the strap to the firewall. Go to a hydraulic shop and buy some bulkhead connectors in whaever pipe thread you need.

Grommets - 1 less connection to make, just pass the hose through.

They have want you want, in brass, nylon, stainless, steel, reducing, barbed, NPT, JIC.
Put bulkhead or bulkhead fittings in the search box.
I order stuff from McMaster all the time, great company.

But I agree with others, I think just a rubber grommet with an ID of the hose OD and pass the hose right thru, less connections is always a good thing.

damn it i wish i would have thought of less connections! i even had some expensive grommets from seal-it that i got from summit but i returned them because i was set on doing bulkheads

If you have a well stocked hardware store nearby, most of the better stocked ones have rubber grommets of various sizes there.

ill have to take a look. not too well stocked though, they never have any of the hardware i need
