Anyone know exactly how high off the ground a stock K5 front and rear bumber sits? And then after a 6" lift is it really 6" higher? Stupid question. I know a 6" lift can vary some but just trying to get a ballpark idea so i know how much higher i can (or can't) go.

so i guess everyone focused on my misbelling... but does anyone know how high off the ground a stock K5's bumber sits?

The bumper height will vary quite a bit based on how the truck was used (since most springs on a stock truck are 20+ years old), what's in the truck and how many leaves are in each spring pack (there were available options for heavier duty springs).

This is the closest I could get to finding the information you want in any of Chevy's brochures.

Just guessing with some trig, I find that the 30*tan(24 degrees) = ~13.25" which sounds awful low to me. That would be the measurement to the bottom of the bumper and don't forget to account for tire size.

The apparent stock tire size for an '87 K5 is 215/75R15 which equates to a ~28"x8.5" tire.
