Bump Stops

How do you make sure they can't squeeze out? Make sure they're hitting something flat?

Well, mine appear to hit the spring plate in such a fashion that the u-bolts prevent the bumpstop from squeezing outward...

My initial strategy was run them like this, they hit the u-bolts, moved around etc and eventually tore.

Now I have four little tabs welded to the spring plate to keep the bump stops from moving side to side.

To be fair though I am on my bump stops hard almost all the time, the truck is almost on the stops at ride height because I'm still running crossover steering and basically no lift.

Here is what I ended up doing:

We'll see how long they last, but at least the have a flat surface (the stock bump stop bracket) to hit. More info here.

Yup! The "competition style" poly bumpstops are junk! (for hard use anyway)
The Ferd Stupid Doody bumpstops have survived for 2 years and taken quite a beating

Would you have pix and/or a Ferd, err, Ford part # for these stops?
