I have a fairly stout winch bumper that is on a 78 parts truck. Is there any chance that it can be made to work on my 70 k5? Just curious on what the big differences might be.

From what I have read, the frame width is the same, the difference is the 67-72 body style has a bit of a point to the middle of the front end body line where as the later body style was straight. To make the 78 bumper work you will need to move it a little away from the body.

Almost the same. The frame width on my 90 Blazer was 28 3/4" and I just measured my 72 and it is 28". I had Kert build me a winch bumper for my 90 and I plan on putting it on my 72. I will post picks of the mods required when I get to that part of the build. My build thread is in the 67-72 pages.

Cool. Sounds like it can be made to work. I can easily remove material from flats on the bumper to acomodate the "Point". I was afraid it would be way to wide or narrow to make it work. Thanks guys. If I actually start to hang it on there I'll post some pictures.

I can't say for sure about the outside body but the 1st gen blazers are definately narrower on the interior than a 2nd gen so that would make a 2nd gen bumper wider than a 1st gen.

Correct. I will need to cut down my bumper some. Just not sure how much yet. Not fenders mounted yet.
