bumper idea

a buddy of mine had this laying around and i thought it might make a good rear bumper. its 5x5 steel and had a nice spot for a ball hitch AND d-ring. just not sure how to mount it. the bumper brakcets are offset so to bolt it i would have to add shims of some kind, or make all new brackets that would all line up together. or should it get welded on??

That looks like galvanized steel, not very strong. It may be galvanized coated though. At any rate i wouldn't trust a ball mounted through that bracket.

looks too narrow for me, your going to bash up the corners of the body
