So I'm wanting to make a bumper/ put my CUCV grille guard on and I'm looking for ideas. I would like to have a winch mount built into the CUCV guard. Also need recovery points of some sort. So if anyone has pics of custom CUCV bumpers basically using the grille guard without the stock bumper.

Here are a few pics I found.

Trimmed some bumper brackets to fit on my frame horns since the 52s wouldn't allow the brackets to bolt on. Set the grille guard on to see how it looks.

Just sent it out to get sandblasted. I think it would look good in semi gloss black.

Possibly. The rest of the front and underside I redid is all nice black. Should blend in and flow up. Lol

I made my front bumper out of 4" x 1/8" steel plate. I had to bend the front side slightly and the top a small pie cut in the middle. 2 pieces for the bottom. Get it? Go from there.

I've seen the bumpers based on a good thick steel tube 4" or larger in diameter. Notch and bend and whatever. Cap both ends of the tube , install a air valve (Schrader?), a pressure gauge if you want (I would) protect them (dirt, impact, etc) fill with air and it can come in pretty handy. If the tube is large enough and will hold enough pressure, you can use some small air tools. Be sure that you test it with pressure under safe conditions! Maybe a long air hose with a lock on chuck.
