Looking for a bumper for the wife's Tahoe. I like the Ranch Hand types but don't really wanna pay for the Ranch Hand name.

Don't need a winch mount or anything fancy just something to protect the truck from the occasional deer and/or zombie.

2005 Tahoe, 5.3, 2wd, all stock.

Bonus points if anyone's knows of a local place in the central TX. Thanks!

maybe blazen off road has something for you. i know they have them for the 88-00 years. they might have them for the newer years to

:haha:

Truthfully, i would be hesitant to add that much weight to the front of a 2wd 1/2 ton. Those ranch hand ones are nice, but heavy.

Do you specifically want a bumper, or grill guard?

Another thing to consider is your Airbag system. I'm guessing a good reason the "brand name" bumpers like Ranch Hand are so expensive is that they have some sort of compatibility with airbags. The smaller custom part shops may make you sign something saying you understand that the bumper could detrimentally effect the airbag deployment.

So, just some things to think about.

If you are set on this, and ok with the risks, i bet a lot of the same makers of K5 bumpers would be willing to mod one to fit a 2000 generation tahoe. Overall dimensions are similar, just mount dimensions would be different.

Good luck
