I have a 1991 Suburban that I have lifted and put 35's on. My spare obviously doesnt fit in the factory spot. Does anyone make a replacement bumper with tire carrier? All the ones I can find are custom.

Ok it looks like all these options are quite pricey. Does anyone have any recommendations for how to carry a full size spare without spending over like $500?

Long term it would only survive if the bolts go into the frame horns. If you bolt through just the bumper, things *will* end up warped or torn.

Also, you'd have to offset it to the side in order for the tailgate to clear (or if you have barn doors, not block the passenger side door).

Sure, you could get a new tube for the bottom of the right length, drill to spec, and paint or powdercoat, but you're then out a fair amount of money *and* throwing away half of it. That's serious money for something that won't remotely bolt up.

How about a carrier that slides into your receiver hitch?

That one doesn't fold, so it's way cheap. There used to be hinged ones like that, see if Curt or Drawtite or somebody makes one.

If you wanna throw money around like that Jeep thing, how about

(edit: I'm late to the game :D )

Or a bit of Googling brings up

Anyway, some thoughts.

I have seen most of those options but I really like the Knuckle Bone carrier. That seems like a good price point for a simple design!

I will definitely be purchasing a Knuckle Bone carrier soon!
