i plan on making some bumpers out of channel iron. Should i use 1/4 or 3/8" iron? I know 3/8's would be stronger but would it weigh to much? I also plan on putting a reciever behind the license plate for a multimount winch setup in the future. Anything i need to know about that? Thank you very much

All depends on weight and how big you're going to make the thing, but 1/4" is plenty and will keep cost down a bit.

Thanks for the responce. I am going to do this as a project in welding class so hopefully I can save some money by using the schools equipment and stuff /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif I'll post some pics when i'm done with it.
