I want to clean up the firewall on my 91 burb
Question is has anyone tried or did a complete removal of the stock heat and A/C from the 91 and put in the newer heat and A/C from a bone yard 2000 plus year burb? Far as i can tell everything in the newer system is all under dash and not under hood kinda like i would like to try out....Any thought of what people have tried would be great.
Thanks

Haven't tried it, but it strikes me that it would be a major hassle in terms of fabrication. You'd probably come ahead money and time wise by going with one of those aftermarket A/C systems that bolt under the dash.

Been lookin at the vintage air systems but there like 2-3k for the full system....was just thinkin with all the mods people have done maybe someone might have tried there own is all but thanks for the reply

The complete Vintage Air system comes out right at $1400

Vacuum and charge, your done.

That's not a bad price considering what it can cost you in replacing compressors, condensers, hoses, accumulators, and all the nickel and dime stuff when trying to make an old system work again.

One of these days I need to drive my burb down and discuss my system.
I want the Vintage Air set-up, but using a 98 Vortec pump/drive system, and include the rear air. I'm positive they can get me the parts and know-how. I've already got the accessory drive, just need the compressor and interior stuff.

Would be really interested in hearing how this turns out.

It's pretty far down my list of "stuff" to accomplish, but it will happen. Priorities are front bumper, side rails/steps, new late model front seats, bed liner interior, doing something about the roof rust/paint, bed liner the dash, ect.
