Burb Stereo?

If you'll tell me how to insert pics in that manageable size w/ the CK5.com tag, I'll send pics. I have a really simple set-up, but it does kick and it sounds nothing like glass & steel.

Thanks TuffDog. I'm still tryin to figure the thing, but short and sweet. Kenwood in-dash changer 4X12w, JBL to fit dash holes, Kenwood 4X10 behind the seat. Those spkrs are driven by the regular outs. RCA-out to a CA Profile 200 under the back seat, just like everyone else. Thats wired to a six inch Bazooka on the floor between the right wheelhouse and the door, pointed at the door. Cranked-up Santana Jingo-ba moves my hair.
What?

THIS

will move your hair, shirt, pants, nose hairs, heartbeat, and just about anything in there when when being pushed,,, :D

And another thing, if you make yourself a plate, as seen in my setup, you can install 6x9's in the 4x10 holes and get much better sound out of them. :waytogo:

i did the 4x10 scene and even bought at one time Kenwood 4x10's and they still don't even come close to the sound these 6x9's put out.

Going to be changing the brand soon though, going to go with a better sounding brand. :D

But that amp now that it's running at 1 ohm, pushin those speakers with 1500 watts of power,,it's almost TOO loud now. :doah: :D

OK TJ... I'm 53, those concerts and guns have taken a toll, I can't afford to push it til it bleeds. Besides, I still have room for the plywood.
But Sheeeeoooot, you should be able to blow the 4' windows.
Brent

i dont have any stock speakers in my barn doors, but does anyone know if the wires are already ran for them? for some reason, i got my suburban with only a 6X9 in the middle dash that doesnt work. i threw two components in the back on the wheel wells but would really like something that looks better.

Never heard of that being prewired. I thought about that too, nice enclosure, no leaky roll down window, but it's shallow. I ended-up with the smallest Bazooka in the far right rear, with the amp under the right side 2nd row seat. That way I can still fit a 4'X8' sheet of plywood, etc. A speaker might not last very long in that door we slam shut.

Yeah, i understand this, i am just goofin around with the big sub box stuff.

But i can't stress enough, for someone just wanting a decent, good sounding setup, to install a good quality speaker in the front corner dash locations, and the 6X9's in that stock side panel location. push alittle power to them, sounds good.

Heck there are times when the subs actually get turned off, and i just run with the components. Clean sounding, still have some bass.

i really don't know what else to say on the matter myself, it's just to me personally, this would be the best "optimal" places to install speakers.

again just my opinion, but thanks for reading, and please continue your surfing here on CK5,,, thank you:D

No pics yet....

I do not have any pics of my install yet, but I went a little differant on my system.......
I mounted a 5 band parametric equlizer where the stock stereo/radio went, mounted a XM Roadie-2 above the center dash vent, just to the side of the guage bezel and am mounting my amp under the rear seat. When done it will go from the XM to the EQ, then to the amp and on out to the speakers. I have not deceided where to mount my speakers yet, but they are 6.5" componants font and rear, 12" dual voice coil subs in a vented box. All of the equipment is Memphis Audio except the EQ and Roadie-2.
like I said, I have a vented box right now, but I am thinking about doing two sealed boxes, kind of pistol shaped, over the rear wheel wells...we'll see.
