Fuel pump and return line issues aside, would a 40-gallon fuel tank from an '88-'91 swap directly into an '86 Burb with the same size tank?

The tanks are the same size. However, the 87-91 ones are for TBI -- duh, you knows this -- and have a baffle or something inside. Don't know that it would HURT a carbed truck to have the newfangled tank, as long as the sending unit will physically fit.
