I was told I have a burnt piston ring.....

The valves were all just adjusted was the number 1 valve adjusted wrong and it burnt my valve......

is it an easy fix like just pulling the piston and putting on new rings and installing?

will it hurt to run it a bit with it like this?

Thanks don't kow much about motors beyond just basic stuff.....

Hmmm, burnt piston ring, not a very common diagnosis. If you do have a ring prob. I would not be running that engine or you might end up with a cyl. wall problem. And yes you can replace indviduel piston parts but what a pain.Try and get a couple more opinions from mech.s in your town.

Thanks will do...I know nothing about it ...was told by the guy that did the valve job that the number 1 piston ring was burnt.....

guess i'll go down there tonight and scope it out.....thanks again!
