Cool man! Time to go jump it off a dune.....RyanB style!!! :)

Congrats Burt!!! Was hoping I'd be seeing this type of post from you soon

You'll be putting those axles to good use soon I'm sure.

N-I-C-E!! :waytogo:

What are the minor details and how did you take care of the pan issue?
Inquiring minds...

sweeet. All us 1st gen guys need to figure out how to get together and wheel someday!

Thanks Guys!
BobO ~ hurry up and win! Wee Neeed a First Gen gathering like no other!!!!

The crossover from WFO Concepts was originally a highsteer mounted behind the axel but my 454 pan was in the way so WFO moved it to the front of the axel. It is a bit diffferent than what you would normaly see a crossover highsteer setup but it should work just fine. I can't get to the front of my K5 to take a good pic until I get it moved out of the garage and that should be this weekend cuz the next weekend is BlazerFest in Hollister.

I have to bleed the brakes, mount the shocks, button up & adjust crossover, mount the ram assist (might wait on that one? Time permiting), shorten front drive line by 2", bleed powersteering setup...I think that is about it :D

What did you do in regards to connecting the front rubber brake lines to the K5's hard lines? Did you need adapter fittings?

Hey Mark :D

I was already using Earls braded lines on my D44 and thoes bolted right onto the D60 calipers, no adpters needed :D Just used the D60 bolt instead of the D44 bolt.

I will get more pics of the front for you all to see :D

The brakes are still a bit squishy and I have to remember the R&p is brand new and need to sorta not get on the BBC buttttt...
YYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!
It Drives !!!
May also change the draglink to a straight bar now that I am connecting to the tierod instead of a steering arm...after this weekend of wheeling I'l know for sure...

Well I have a few things working agianst me...
First is air in the lines still
Then the fact the rear rotors are rusted and need pads BAD
Lastly the front rotors have black paint on them still :eek1:

The story goes like this:
Burt is broke and can not buy any more parts right now so the crappy pads will have to do for now. I didn't clean off the rust on the rear rotors or the paint off the front rotors that the previous owner painted for storage reasons, anti rust trick.
But hey they paint and the rust is now wiped off after 3-4 trips around town :doah: :eek1: :haha: :haha: :haha:
This winter new rotors and pads all around so I'm not tripin too much..or am I? hahahaha
I have a stick so I can allways shut down the engine and let the clutch out if the brakes fail on the trail...the beautty of beeing a trailer queen I guess, don't have to worry about the Hwy drving and such:D :haha:

This photo just happens to be the tire that was mounted backwards, you can see the arrow on the tire just below the date stamp on the photo. The front of the truck is to the right of the photo and if you follow the arrow around the tire it points to the rear not the front :doah:
I started to think that maybe 3 were mounted backwards and this one was correct..feeeew glad my thought was wrong.
Now I get to first hand 'flip' the tire as I did not mount these so I have yet to play with them :D

Thanks again Cajun for pointing that out too me :D
