So i am going to need to rebuild the the drive system.. Ball joints, tie rods, all bushings, steering box(maybe), shocks and so on.. Any suggestions on what to buy or not to buy.. i dont want to do all this work just to turn around and say well i Wish i had done this or that.

This is my 1st blazer build.. bought this truck knowing i had to put in some $$$$$.. But man is it doing wonders for stress relief.

Or can you all tell me where you order your parts.. Auto zone"? Online?

price things on rockauto.com and see if they are cheaper after shipping. Moog is all I've ever used. That's a 10 bolt axle, so order things accordingly. I would hold off on the steering box till last. Replacing the shocks is best, going to a single set up will be cheaper and often times yields a smoother ride. Order shocks for a single set up, not just half a dual set up.

Look into some threads titled "d44" or "10 bolt" rebuilding. Or even "ball joint" installing. Something along those lines. Search titles only first, that always helps narrow it down.

Thank you

I agree with K85 on the worthiness of Moog parts. As far as bushings go, there are very few in the front end. Namely spring eye, shackle, and sway bar bushings (and you-or someone-removed your sway bar). But in general, OEM-type rubber replacements will last for years as long as you can keep oil off of them (rubber breaks down QUICK in oil). Poly bushings are more durable, but they tend to be slightly stiffer and are prone to squeaks if they get real dirty. You can get greasable ones, but you have to keep grease in them or they too will get squeaky. I have poly on mine and if I don't keep em greased, it sounds like I'm riding a dolphin down the road.

The good news is that parts are cheap and there are very few wearable parts to replace compared to, say an IFS or 2WD truck.

Unsolicited advice follows - consider getting an ORD steering box brace. It's good protection for the weak frame and you'll be surprised how much it will tighten up your steering feel. At least I was.
