Hello,

I am trying to find a vendor that sells AND STOCKS Bushwacker Cut-Out Fender Flares for an 81-87 Chevy truck. This sounds like an innocuous request, right? Not so in Vancouver Canada!

There is an absolute TON of vendors that claim to carry them around me, but there is always a 6 week wait to get them as they all claim that Bushwacker "Custom Makes them for your application."

I call BS on this! I am ordering a standard cut-out flare for a very common vehicle. I find it hard to believe that there is a guy waiting there to take the vendor's order and that they only make them long after they get the orders - unless they are backlogged in fantastic fashion, which, I suppose is possible but highly unlikely as these are such a common item!

Does anyone know of a Vendor someone that actually keeps a STOCK of these items? I will pay to have them expressed shipped to either my address in Canada or the US. I just don't want to wait 6 weeks as the truck is not driveable without them!

Any ideas? Any vendors with some sitting on their shelves? I am specifically looking for the ones that come with the template on where to cut and REQUIRE the cutting as my tires are too large with the 6" suspension lift that I have installed.

Thanks!

Did you try Summit? They usually list what is in stock, drop-ship, back-order, etc.
You could try 4WPW, but they might leave you hanging...
Google?

You can call their 800 number and find out if they have stock or not.

I found a local supplier that can get me them by the 9th of April as they had some on order for a customer that backed out.

I am just a big enough A-hole, or perhaps just incredulous enough that I called Bushwacker to get an explanation. After merrily dancing through an internal phone directory and finding a number of a guy that was shocked to hear direct from the end-user of the product, he explained to me (and I love this line) that they are made of "a space aged polymer" that is resistant to cracking and is veryflexibile, but therefore is not terribly rigid. They only have a "shelf life" of a month or something short like that once they've been put there. They warp and won't work properly if they are old. I can semi-appreciate this explanation. Of course, I have no way of calling him on it or testing him on it as I don't intend to buy mine, measure them up, leave them for 30 days, call his bluff and see if they are warped. I don't have the brass genitalia for that game.

I guess we just have to order and wait... what else is new in this racket?
