I want to like to like it but just can't. The guy/gal that built it obviously has talent, but missed the mark on style. Did they run out of wood and just opt to not do the hood? Inquiring minds want to know.

what's up with the steering ?

In one picture it looks like the steering wheel is on the side of the cab under the wiper motor.
A few pictures later the steering appears to come out on the turbo side of the motor, with the steering wheel on that side of the cab..

You've never heard of crossover steering? I'm imagining a chain drive from side to side behind that cowl.

For
Mechanical s completely rebuilt to a very high standard.
you wouldn't expect an open cone air filter or exhaust just dumping under the frame with seemingly no muffler. It appears all the effort went into woodwork and the metal left to rattle cans. Makes you wonder if he was really a boat builder. I have no idea how old Unimog suspension works, but aren't those Ford shock towers?

He was going for a Diamond T look i guess.
The high clearance and breakover angle of Portal axles.. negated by a giant dorkmaster chrome pipe.
The inline six diesel though..
I would tear the ugly cab and bed off and slap a Suburban body on top.

Hell, I dig it. My kind of ugly!
