I know that it has been asked a few times where a couple of the guys have got their butt weld clamps from.

The first order I put in was through Eastwood, 4 clamps for $30.00. Later I had seen them at HF, 8 clamps for $8.00. I went to find them again at HF when the question came up as to where to get these and they didn't have them. I have been back several times in the last last six months or so and I still couldn't find them. Well, I found them there again last week.

IMO you can not tell the difference between the two.

I could have put this in the tools section, but I have never seen a bunch of guys who like to cut up their rigs like the 1st gen guys. :screwy: :haha: So here it is.

Sorry for the crappy cell pic. :doah:

Eastwood's web page. It looks like they are on sale now though. Four for $20 bucks.

Here is one of the places that I used mine.

I haven`t look hard to find those in Canada, but I WISH I had some.
Thanks for the pic, of the package it might make them easyer to find.:thumb:

Or I could trade you a pack for a factory tow hook for a 69/72 4x4.:D

Max,

If you really want some of these, it would be no problem to pick you up a couple of packs and ship them out to ya.

Don't worry about the tow hooks, I don't think that would be a fair trade for you.

Available in stores only.... Dammit.

I found them on the HF website but you can't actually buy them there.

Next time I travel near a HF store I might pick up a few extra sets. At that price there's no reason not to own a LOT of them!

Thanks Mike I``ll look for some out here, when I got some time.

I don`t have any big welding plans right now anyway. Just some small stuff to take care of.

Why did you end up changing out the whole quarter?

The entire side of the rig was smashed from front to back. I couldn't see any of this until I took it down to metal.

That one quarter would have had 6 patches in it by the time I was done. It was just to many for me.

Good practice though...

Yep, I was pissed after I bought the eastwood ones and see them in the shelf at harbor freight for 1/8 the price.

Sorry its hard to tell on my phone, but what goes through the slot? Is it like a flat piece that you turn so you can spin it and remove after tacking the panel in? And what size is the gap that they leave?
