are the rockers from JCWhitney any good, or are they chinese pieces of junk? Does gmpartsdirect.com sell rockers for an 87 K5? If they do... does anybody have any part numbers or anything for them? Thanks alot for any help.

You can't buy rockers from GM or gmpartsdirect becase when our trucks were built the rocker came all one piece with the whole door opening. So therefore there is no parts number or avalibility for just the rockers from GM. JCwhittney sucks. They are poorly bent, really thin and just junk. Buy the rockers from LMC Goodmarks or anyplace that is known for their body panels. Hope this helps.

GM does make replacement style rockers like the aftermarket ones. I sent you a pic from GM parts computer, check your e-mail for it.

does gm make the rocker and door jam all in one piece? that would be very cool because that is rusted out too. you wouldn't happen to have a part number for that would you. oh yeah it's a 74 blazer.

Well, thats news to me, when I tried to get rockers from GM they said it was just one piece. I have the exploded picture of every body panel on my truck from GM and they show the rocker and door jam all one piece and it is possible to buy. I mean that like there were some made, now whether or not they are still available that's another story but hopefully they do. I want to see these GM rocker panels becuase I would be interested in getting some some day. THanks

hack off the original rockers and weld up some steel box tube. The green blazer on off-road.com did this... cheap as hell, and very sturdy if done correctly.

I guess I should say that they are listed as being made. I don't know their current availability. They do show a complete door jamb, along with a little of the windshield frame.
