Just got some for 40x17x15 ground hawgs looking to buy some wheels what would be better 15x10 or 15x12? Have a d60 up front and 14bolt rear. Thanks pics would be great.

I bought eatons from national tire 15x10s in black with 3 3/8 back spacing and only had to do a lil grinding. They were also only 70.00 each shipped. Im not sure if there always that cheap tho. They look good and fit nice on my 39.5-15-15s.

Ill grind calipers thinking of 3.5 back spacing if I get less back spacing afraid of messing up bearings. Just wondering of what width to get wanted opinions.

here is blazer with 4" lift and 15x10 3.5" backspace with ground calipers and 40x17x15 hawgs

10 " width is just fine for these tires.

and dont think you will hurt those dana 60 size wheel bearings. the outer is the size of the inner on 1/2 - 3/4 tons. and the inner on a 60 is big.

you shouldnt have any bearing issues with less backspacing as d60's are pretty strong...most people that run 15's with 2.5" dont usually have problems from what ive seen and read...ive got 15x10's w/2.5" bs and no trouble and ive had em for 3 1/2yrs...

got to get up faster to beat me. :thumb:

and best part of 2.5" backspace is nover have to grind . even if you swap calipers if one goes bad.

Sounds good how about on the width is that just preference or does it make a difference. Sweetk30 thanks for pics cant view them though as im not a paid member have to get a membership thanks guys

send me a visitor message with your email i will send them to ya.

and 10" width is good for those tires. i have been mechanic / tire guy for years. 12" wide is crazy money and hard to get mostly special order 3-4 weeks.

those summits 15x10 2.5" backspace i posted are in stock 98% of the time

as stated above, 10" is good as 8" will balloon the tire too much causing possible sidewall vulnerability...

Ok 10" it is saw the Eaton wheels on ntw for $70 gonna order the 15x10 just thought the 12" wheels would be better for traction since its more width.

pics sent to you via my yahoo act.

best check with ntw might be special order.

i know summit is in stock most the time and fast ship. just checked shows ready to ship the 2.5" backspace if that is the ones you want.

good luck glad we could help you . thats why ck5 rocks for these trucks :thumb:

yep ntw took me 3 weeks to get, special order.

But are the wheels better or same thing no difference they seem to look better as material wise.

mounting and balencing tires for 10+ years. a steel wheel is a steel wheel .

now the newer aluminum stuff so so . and chromed aluminum YUKKY stuff if salt gets under the super thin chrome ( not tripple diped like the old days )

Just me but I have seen those tires on a 12 inch rim and I like the way they look more.

The eatons are a super nice heavy wheel, i have em for 5 plus years and they still are real nice. The 15x10s on a 15 wide tire look huge... The wider tire on the wider wheel also might look good as blazinzuk said.
