so, I've just been looking around a bit at sites that list salvage rigs..

eyeballing whats out there in the way of a 94 to 98 p-pump Cummins.. obviously I'm also looking for a 4500 rig.... and not a fire truck cuz I'd want the harness out of it too...

stuff like this..

so my general question is this.. is this as simple as it seems? basically the trucks are dirt cheap.. that was the first I saw with a bid on it.. most have no action, and a $200 minimum bid...

obviously I'd have to figure on shipping too.. so maybe 300 to $500 for the rig, plus a g to 1500 shipping and I could have a cummins parts rig in my yard for probably 2 g's? it seems most of the rigs have 150,000 to 225,000 miles..

the other question was a Dodge specific one, that particular site doesn't list trans... do the manual dodges have the auto indicator in the dash, just unused? or if you see an auto indicator, it's definitely an auto? the speedo pics usually show the auto indicator next to it..

friend buys at a salvage auction and seems like you have to be a business or be bonded to bid then there are a few extra buyers fees that get added to the total price.

I just read a bit.. they bid for you up to your max bid.....

and you have to pay a deposit prior to the auction... to be either used for the sale, or refunded, or kept in "bank"...

I'd be concerned with basically, you'd be charged your max bid, no matter what happens "at auction".. if it's even accepted like you said..
